I think this is one of my very favorite new House Mouse stamps...lots of fun little details!

I colored it with copics and layered it with cutting dies from Spellbinders. The first layer is from the Fluted Classics rectangle set and the last two are from the Postage Edge die set. The tag was cut with my Silhouette.

Lori Whitlock May Blog Hop

5 x 7 Box Card Picket Fence (SVG, Silhouette)

I adore this new file! It makes a 5x7 card and is quite lovely. For my card I added tiny dimensionals between the two layers of the fencing and I like that look. I also made one without the extra layer and it was a beauty too. I also added a pop dot or two behind the center pink flower on the tall piece.  It is also fun to slightly bend the flower petals for a 3D effect.

I hope you give this file a try, it is so easy-and it looks impressive! It also comes with numerous sentiments-so it's an all occasion file!

You can find  this file at either the Silhouette Store or at the Lori Whitlock Shop.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge-May Pastels

  Penny Black Saturday Challenge

May Inspiration

2024 Challenge

Anything Goes

or the optional theme-

'Pastels'

I decided to try the brushstroke stamps again. Jill Foster from Penny Black makes that technique look so easy!

I made my first try and all the colors were running all over-too much misting! If you could see the other side of this panel-you would laugh! FYI-It  only takes a teeny tiny spritz of water.

I flipped the Bristol smooth watercolor paper over and gave it another try. I used Tombow pens #126 (a light green),#723 (pink) and just a bit of #993 (dk yellow) and misted with a little SU! mister. The little mister was really nice with a very fine mist, but this operator got carried away the first go round!

After I finished stamping, I cut it out with a sweet Penny Black square die and added a pink panel behind the die cut so the pink would show through the dots around the edging. I added the panel on to the card base with foam tape. Viola!

A Monster birthday card

This card is not for Halloween but I thought it would be cute for a 7 year old birthday boy!  This cute file is designed by Miss Kates Cuttables-lots of layers but easy to make. I resized this little monster to fit a 5.5 square card and added a simple little birthday sentiment from Sweet and Cute Penny Black transparent stamp set.

Hope you enjoyed this fun card!

Box Card Teacup Flowers-Lori Whitlock cut file

I think this little get well card would make anyone feel better! A touch of yellow to cheer you up!

I made this sweet teacup bouquet cut file and added my two cute little sick meecies peeping out from from the flowers and teacup.

I had a crazy time taking pictures today. It was sunny, but oh so cold and windy...several times this sweet little card went flying. It was funny trying to hold the card and snap quickly! LOL

Lori Whitlock Shadow Box Card Golf Cart

Hello! About once a month you will see a short little assembly tutorial for Lori Whitlock cut files here on my blog.

 Here we go!

I wanted to show you how I put together this Shadow Box Card.  I'm making this golf themed card as a Thank You for my son-in-law. He's celebrating the end of tax season (he's a CPA) and can't wait to hit the fairways! The addition of the sun on this card is my wishful thinking for warmer weather...it is unseasonably cold here.

Shadow Box Card Golf Cart (SVGSilhouette)

This is a good size card-it folds down to fit in a 5 x7 envelope. There are many pieces but it assembles very quickly. FYI- You will need two 12 x 12 pieces of white cardstock for the main working panels of the card.

This is the two main frame pieces. The slots will be on either side of the card.

These are the insert panels for inside the frame

This is all the smaller pieces. The blue piece is optional, but I used it as a sky.  The sun is from the Summer Set file. You can also find it here.

This is what the panels should look like when the colored cardstock is glued on.

A view of the panels stacked to reveal your golfing scene!

To assemble the main frame of the card you are going to glue the front frame to the back frame after you fold the end flaps in.

Make sure to flatten out each frame piece and align at the bottom when you glue the flaps. This will assure a nice fit for the inserts.

Start by inserting the back panel in first, slightly bending the panel so that the top of the tab inserts into the side slit and then the bottom of the tab will follow easily.

Here you can see the tabs after they were inserted into the side slots. Now you have a fun 3D diorama type scene!

A little tip. I bought some quarter inch blue painters tape and stick my little pieces on them. I always lose tiny pieces so I cut extras and add them to a piece of tape to keep them from escaping!

I hope you will give this card a try-it was fun and easy to make. It would be perfect for any golfer in your life!
